Tomoyo Watase (渡瀬 朋世 Watase Tomoyo) is the mother of Aoba Watase and Tsubasa Watase.
Background[]
Not much is known of Tomoyo except she was married to a firefighter.
Plot[]
Appearing briefly in the start of the series, Tomoyo was worried that Aoba Watase would be late for school. After Aoba arrives in the future, Aoba implied his sister could be alive but he had no hope for their mother still being alive. She also appears in one of Aoba's flashbacks, at the funeral of her husband, hugging Tsubasa Watase.
Her status in 2088 is unknown, although she likely died of old age.
Etymology[]
- The name Tomoyo means "friend" (朋) (tomo) and "world" (世) (yo).
- Tomoyo's surname Watase means "transit, ford, ferry, cross, import, deliver, diameter, migrate" (渡) (wata) and "swift current, rapids" (瀬) (se).
